At Kids @ Play Early Learning Centre, we offer an educational program firmly rooted in the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), focusing on “Belonging, Being, and Becoming.” Our play-based curriculum is designed to provide children with diverse learning experiences and opportunities to reach their full potential.

Our team of highly qualified educators is dedicated to guiding and nurturing children’s growth and learning journeys. We recognise that every child is unique and develops at their own pace. Therefore, our approach is to provide the necessary strategies while also allowing children to explore and direct their own learning. We create a safe and supportive environment where children can develop their social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive skills, among others.

Kids @ Play is organised into three distinct age groups:

Koalas (Ages 1 to 2.5 years): We cater to the needs of our youngest learners, fostering their development through play and exploration.

Joeys (Ages 2.5 to 3.5 years): This group continues to build upon their foundational skills and knowledge in a nurturing environment.

Kangas (Ages 3.5 until school transition): For our older preschoolers, we provide comprehensive preparation for their transition to “big school.” Our Preschool Program ensures this transition is smooth, positive, and tailored to meet each child’s needs.

In collaboration with families, we establish individual learning goals based on Early Learning Goals, recognising that families play a pivotal role in their child’s development. Our curriculum is designed to align with these goals and is guided by observations made by our educators, aimed at achieving developmental milestones.

In addition to our core curriculum, we offer two distinctive programs:

Cultural/Indigenous Program: We instil a sense of cultural awareness and respect in children by acknowledging the history of the country they live in and valuing the diversity of cultures. Our approach is multicultural, reflecting our service’s inclusive values.

Language Program (Spanish): Recognising the importance of early language development, we incorporate a Spanish program led by our multicultural team. Learning a second language at an early age not only enhances language skills but also promotes brain development, memory, and overall cognitive growth.

At Kids @ Play, our commitment extends beyond the classroom. We engage children in understanding and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a global initiative for a better future. These 17 goals serve as a framework for teaching children about environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and global citizenship, and they aim to provide “shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future”. To foster a sense of community and belonging, we organise excursions to explore key parts of our local community. Additionally, we plan various incursions throughout the year, offering unique learning experiences, from dental health awareness to environmental responsibility.

At Kids @ Play, we are dedicated to nurturing well-rounded, socially aware, and curious young learners who are prepared for the journey of education and life beyond.
